Inventory Management
Keep track of your stock levels automatically and ensure you never run out of critical ingredients during a busy shift.
How Inventory Links to Sales
The UCH system uses a recipe-based inventory deduction system.
When you create a menu item (e.g., "Cappuccino"), you can link raw ingredients to it (e.g., 20g of Espresso Beans, 200ml of Milk). Every time a Cappuccino is sold through the POS, the system automatically deducts those exact quantities from your raw inventory.
Managing Stock
Adding New Inventory Items
- Navigate to the Inventory tab in the left sidebar of the On-Premise desktop app.
- Click the "Add Item" button.
- Enter the details: Item Name, Category (e.g., Dairy, Produce), Unit of Measurement (e.g., Liters, Kilograms), and the Current Stock level.
- Set a Low Stock Alert Threshold. For example, if you set the threshold to 5 Liters for Milk, the system will alert you when you drop below that amount.
- Click "Save."
Stock Inwards (Receiving Shipments)
When your supplier drops off a new shipment, you need to add it to the system.
- Go to Stock Inwards.
- Select the inventory item.
- Enter the quantity received and the purchase price.
- The system will automatically recalculate your average cost per unit, helping you maintain accurate profit margins.
Wastage and Adjustments
If a glass breaks, or milk spoils, you can log it under Wastage. This ensures your physical stock matches the system's stock without throwing off your sales data. All wastage requires a manager PIN and a reason code.
