How It Works

The Waiter App is a lightweight mobile application designed to run on any smartphone or tablet (iOS or Android). It acts as an extension of your main On-Premise desktop POS.

When a waiter takes a customer's order on their device, the app sends a signal over your restaurant's local WiFi network directly to the desktop computer. The desktop computer then logs the order and fires a print command to the Kitchen Order Ticket (KOT) printer.

Note: Because it operates over the local WiFi network, taking table orders works perfectly even if your external internet goes down!

Core Capabilities

1. Digital Menu Navigation

Waiters have access to the full, up-to-date digital menu directly on their screen. They can easily search for items, navigate categories, and see high-resolution images of the food to help upsell to customers.

2. Modifiers and Special Requests

"No onions," "Extra spicy," "Sauce on the side." The Waiter App handles complex custom modifiers elegantly. Staff can tap pre-configured modifiers or type in custom kitchen notes that print directly on the KOT.

3. Table Management

The app displays a visual map of the restaurant floor. Waiters can see at a glance which tables are occupied, which are waiting for food, and which are ready for the bill. They can also seamlessly transfer a bill from one table to another if guests decide to move.

4. Real-time Inventory Feedback

If the kitchen runs out of a specific dish, the manager can mark it "Out of Stock" on the main POS. Within milliseconds, that dish is greyed out on every waiter's mobile device, preventing awkward situations where a waiter takes an order for food that can no longer be served.
